Getting your rig there... |

There are many ways to transport your rig to your favorite sailing spot. The ideal way is to have a trailer to carry the buggy, sails, masts, etc. However, if you don't have a trailer (and only have one landsailer), there are many ways to transport your equipment to the sailing spot of choice. Check out the pics below to see how.
Kathy's popup camper has brackets along the sides to carry the masts and booms. The landsailer is carried on the rear of the truck; brackets hold the rear axle, while the front of the sailer is secured to the top of the popup camper. Another other option is a rack that slides into a receiver hitch, similar to the bike racks you see. Take a look at the pics below to get some ideas. If you have more than one rig, things get a bit more complicated. I built this 16 foot trailer from scratch, the RV was my very first Ebay purchase. The buggies hang from lengths of chain, which makes it very easy to load and unload them. The trailer will hold at least four buggies, with room for all the sails, water jugs, air tank, and other misc stuff. There are also attachment points for an awning, since there are no trees where we sail.
