Sailing Instructions and Tuning Tips

Although the term "landsailing" is used here, almost all of the principles and techniques will apply to ice sailing as well.

When I first became interested in sailing I went to the library, checked out a few books and began to research. The books were about water sailing, and covered all kinds of technical terms. I began to think that I was going to have to get some sort of degree just to learn to sail. I have since discovered that actually sailing is much less confusing than reading about it. It's also a lot more fun. I will try to keep this as brief as possible, although there are terms that you need to know to sail.

Sailing a landsailer is very easy to learn. I think it's easier to learn landsailing than water sailing, especially since you can get out and walk if there is no wind or you end up stuck. The principles are all the same as water sailing, the main differences are the higher speeds, and it hurts more if you fall over on land.
